Inflation targeting in Russia: problems and perspectives

Abstract

The article covers two subjects. The first one concerns distinctive features of inflation targeting as an important method of monetary policy. The other issue concerns Russia’s outlook to implement inflation targeting policy. The article analyses factors required for implementation of such policy based on the practice of inflation targeting in developed countries. Russia’s conformity to the above factors is commented.
